Anxiety in the heart causes depression but a good word makes the heart glad. (Proverbs 12:25)

Powerful Ways To Deal With Depression

Everyone has felt low at some point in life. These temporary lows are considered to be normal. Our lows only become a problem when they persist and linger on for several weeks. If this happens, this could be a sign of depression.

Depression is a mental disorder. If you are constantly thinking negative thoughts or unhealthy thoughts eventually you will become depressed. And so your number one objective is going to be to take control of your thought life. I can hear you now...

"Yeah, yeah, that sounds good and all....

But how do I do it?" Well, one thing is for sure -- you need to stop listening to bad news. Yep, that means you should stop watching the news and all of the other junk that comes on television or over the radio. Do you not understand that what you see and what you hear are shaping your thought life.

Words and images shape the way you think.

And so if you are constantly looking at a bad scene or images and hearing negative talk and you start to get these dark feelings...

STOP!

Get away from them. Anyone who is speaking negatively is polluting your mind. These words are forming your thought process. If you continue to hear them long enough the words will get in you and you will believe them. The next thing you know you will be speaking them as well.

And so, do yourself a favor and change your mentality. It is best that you get around people who are going speak well and be supportive of you. This should be friends, family members and mentors.

Here is another way to deal with depression

Another way to battle against depression is to eat healthy. Unhealthy food or junk food can influence the way you think. if the food is very acidic and you are eating too much of it, it can change your mood. Eating junk food makes your body feel tired and weighed down to the point you will not feel like doing much.

Eat healthy. Eating healthy, exercising and doing some cardio will dramatically change the way you feel and ultimately change the way you think. When you are healthy you feel light. It's as if a huge load was lifted off of you.

Foods that are alkaline are known to be healthy for your body. Here is a short list of fruits and vegetables.

Fruits:

Watermelon
Lemon
Limes
grapefruit
Mango
Figs

Vegetables:

Asparagus
Raw spinach
Broccoli
Garlic
Lettuce
Sweet Potatoes
Zucchini

Did you know that juicing asparagus, half of a zucchini and half of a lemon is good for detoxifying the body. A clean detoxed body is a healthy body. As long as you eat well you will feel and live well.

I know i'm not speaking the language you see on the other medical sites. They give good information about depression but in the end you are stuck managing your depression. They may give you their ways to deal with depression (anti-depressents) but they will not give you any ways to really overcome depression.

Healthy people aren't depressed and they will not become depressed as long as they live a disciplined and healthy lifestyle. As I mentioned earlier one of the ways to deal with depression is by listening to people who speak positive words.

I'm talking about people who speak with wisdom. If you continue to hear positive and wise sayings you will start to believe them and you will start to speak them as well. And then you will eventually start to live out what you think and speak.

Techniques that will transform your mind

Here is an exercise. This is going to help your mind become more fit. It's not good to only exercise the body. You need exercise your mind to develop a strong mentality and get your mind in shape as well. Now we are going to use words and images to shape our thinking. You must discipline yourself and go through this exercise on a daily bases.

The only way to succeed in life is through discipline and by being diligent. I know that's a word people do not like hearing. It's just contiual training in a specific area, such as the mind. You can discipline yourself. You do it everyday by going to work or going to school. That takes discipline

Okay, so the way this works is we are to say the phrase "I am". Not "I will be" or "I wish I could be"
